
Dr. Gerard Balague

Dr. Gerard Balague graduated as a dentist from the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (Spain) in 2005, after which he worked in NHS and private practice in Wales. In 2007, Gerard concentrated on obtaining a postgraduate certificate in Implantology from Warwick University. After obtaining this certificate, he worked in London for 2½ years in a general dental practice, concentrating on periodontics and implantology.
Gerard then moved back to Spain to start a full-time, three-year Master’s degree in Implantology: Oral Surgery, Prosthetics, and Periodontics. During this time, he also completed a postgraduate certificate in forensic dentistry and a Master’s degree in basic research in Dentistry and Biomedicine.
Gerard is currently working as a clinical teacher at King’s College Hospital, where he completed a Master of Arts in Clinical Education in 2017 at the same institution. Since then, Gerard has become so passionate about teaching that he started a PhD in Spain in 2019. Gerard’s main current interests in dentistry are the treatment of gum disease, as well as placing dental implants to restore missing teeth.
